Ruby X Kokopelli Puppies ~ 2 Days

Good morning all!  Ru’s pups are doing great.  In just two days all have gained an ounce or two and they are very strong nursers (that’s what Ruby tells me anyway :) ).  Zuma is still trying to figure out what’s going on and as I was taking pictures this morning and weighing Ruby’s pups, Zuma was following me in and out watching every step of the way.  I let her smell and look at each of the pups so she could be assured that we were not highjacking any of hers!  Here are the pictures of each of our beautiful Ruby puppies (with their birth weights).  Big shout out to Michelle of Waltzing Matilda Labradoodles for the stylish ID collars the pups are sporting!

Chocolate Boy (10.5 oz)

Red Boy (11.5 oz)

Yellow Girl (9.5 oz)

Purple Boy (13 oz)

Flag Boy (9.5 oz)

Caramel Boy (11.5 oz)

Blue Girl (10.5 oz)

Puppies are always cute, but there are certain things that they do that always make me stop and watch.  One of my favorites is the way they hold their tails erect when they are nursing and getting really good milk flow.  As I walked back into the room with Red Boy, all of the pups were lined up perfectly, and all of them had their tails straight out!  Too cute :)

Check out the tails!

Thanks so much for looking!  All of these puppies are spoken for.  Check out our upcoming litter plans at the top right of this page.

Welcome Ruby X Kokopelli Puppies!

Ruby gave birth to 7 beautiful puppies today.  She was panting and pacing all day, but didn’t get serious about it until later.  The first was born at 6:29…the 7th at 7:50.  As I type, she is happily nursing 4 chocolate boys, 2 chocolate girls, and 1 cream boy.  I can’t help but sing the Sesame Street song “one of these things is not like the others…” everytime I look at them!  Here is the first group picture of our new arrivals.

Zuma X Toby Puppies ~ 2 Weeks

All of the pups are over 2lbs!  They are starting to try to stand and walk now…it starts out with a kind of alligator-like shuffle.  A few are starting to open their eyes too.  Just this morning I moved Zuma and pups into the family room to make room for Ru’s pups (she is in labor as I type).  Now that they are 2 weeks, they are better able to regulate their body temperature so I keep the family room at around 73…while Ru’s pups will enjoy the puppy room temps at a toasty 77-80ish.

Zuma X Toby Puppies ~ 1 Week

I couldn’t believe it when I realized this morning that it has already been a week!  It is amazing the difference just one week can make in the life of a puppy… all of them have nearly doubled their weight.  Zuma once again has proven to be a fantastic mom.  She still spends most of the day with the pups, but is just now wanting to come upstairs in the morning to see the boys off to school…and I guess some of it has to do with the extra speical meals the girls get while nursing.  (Sadly, they eat better than my children.)  I’m so glad I did the pictures early this morning.  The light was perfect…and the sun warmed the pups so that they were very happy just napping for me, and nothing makes for better pictures than cooperative pups!

Cream Girl (yes, last week she was Caramel, but now she developed black pigment so she is hereafter Cream :) )

Zuma X Toby Puppies ~ 1 Day

The pups are all doing great!  Zuma was such a trooper last night…she is a true ‘natural’ mama with great instincts.  All night long, when a pup would wander away from the rest of the pack, Zuma would cry loudly until I got up and moved the puppy back for her while she just waited with the other pups….my boys said this makes me her “puppy monkey”, nice huh?

Welcome Zuma X Toby Puppies!

Zuma blessed us with 8 big beautiful puppies tonight!  We haven’t had pups here since September and I am so happy to hear their little peeps and feel their softness against my cheek again.  We have 4 girls and 4 boys, ranging in size from 8.5oz to 13.5oz.  The biggest was the first puppy and it took a little coaxing to bring her out, but all of the rest followed within 2 hours.  I will introduce them all and post individual pictures tomorrow.  All of these puppies have new homes waiting for them.

Upcoming Litter News!

It is really fun for me to go visiting my guardian dogs and getting the girls together for play dates.  The downside to this is that my girls all want to come into season at the same time….which is why we haven’t had puppies here since September!  So I’ve decided to have 2 litters together this January…just more puppies to love, right?

Zuma

Toby

The first batch of puppies will be born around January 9, to Zuma and Toby.  All will have fleece coats in shades of cream, caramel, and apricot.  They will be larger mediums (35-45 lbs).  The puppies will be ready to go to their new homes in mid March.   Zuma and Toby had a wonderful litter together last spring.  The puppies are all so loving and easy to train….can’t wait to have some more with them!  Check out pictures of their previous litter using the link for May 2011 in the archive column on the right side of this page.

Ruby

Kokopelli of Eden Valley Labradoodles

The second litter will be due about 2 weeks later around January 23, for pups to go home near the end of March.  The puppies in this litter will be smaller mediums ranging from about 25-30lbs.  We expect both chocolate and caramel cream puppies.  This is also a repeat honeymoon for these two as their litter from last January produced some spectacular puppies!  Don’t let the smaller package fool you…these pups will have big dog personalities for sure!  You can view pictures of their past puppies by clicking on the link for January 2011 in the Archive section on the right side of this page.

We are only accepting a very limited number of reservations on each of these litters until we see for sure how Mother Nature will bless us.  We’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.  Please contact us through our website at  http://www.delawarevalleylabradoodles.com/contact.html

Our Zuma and Toby Have Honeymooned!

Zuma and Toby had a beautiful little batch of babies last Spring!  I can’t say enough good things about how funny and smart these guys are, and I am so excited to be having another litter with them.  All of the puppies will mature to large mediums at about 35-45lbs.  They will have incredibly soft wavy fleece coats in shades of cream and caramel (some with white mismarks).  I anticipate these pups being born around January 10, to go home in early/mid March.  Space on the reservation list for this litter is extremely limited!

Lily x Toby Puppies ~ 7 Weeks

This is the last set of pictures for my little babies as they’ll be heading home with their new families next weekend!  I’ve really enjoyed this small litter in all their rainbow of colors.  The pups are wonderfully sweet little guys as all of Toby’s babies are :) .  When you walk into the puppy room, they are jumping on the pen to be the first for attention, but as soon as you pick them up they just melt into your arms.  Lily is now home with her guardian family and our Chloe is happy to have her best buddy back.  The pups are having to make due with manner lessons from Ruby, Heidi, and Charlaine.

Thank you all so much for watching this litter grow up with us!  Hope you are having a safe and happy Labor Day weekend :)

Lily x Toby Litter ~ 6 weeks

We all made it through Hurricane Irene!  Last night around 10:30 they issued tornado warnings for our area, so we all spent the night downstairs with the puppies.  By this afternoon, it had cleared up enough to take the pups outside for some playtime while I cleaned their pen without any help from electricity…I do NOT envy the Amish!  Hope all of you made it through without much damage.  The pups are getting really good at following people now, and we will start venturing out for some walks around the cul de sac.  Lily will be heading back home at the end of the week, so we will need to be extra vigilant to keep her from feeding this week…she is still supermom and is jumping 3ft fences to get to her pups!

Spike (formerly known as Chocolate Boy)

We have one beautiful little girl available.  Chocolate Girl has a great outgoing personality, and would do well in almost any type of home.  She will have a very allergy-friendly curly fleece coat.  Right now, she is a very dark chocolate like her mama Lily was (see my blog archives from May and June 2009 for Lily’s (Purple Girl from Chloe x Xander litter) puppy pictures).  Lily has faded to a beautiful lavender, but Toby actually got a bit darker as he matured…so I really don’t know how Chocolate Girl’s coat color will turn out.  I expect her to mature to a nice size medium at 35-40lbs.
