Ruby X Rhett – 5 Weeks

February 9, 2010 by delawarevalleylabradoodles

The personalities on these little guys are so amazing!  When I go into the puppy pen, they are all over me.  Ruby and Rhett were just a fantastic combination of dogs!  They still all pile together to sleep in the little dog beds, but they play very hard now…rolling and wrestling and growling and barking at each other!  It’s such a blast to watch.  Enjoy this weeks pictures :)

Puppy Pile

I just had to share this picture with you!  This morning, I moved the pups out of their whelping box and into a large pen enclosure to give them more room.  So what is the first thing they do?  They all pile into a very small dog bed…..

Move it on over.....

And while I’m here, I’ll also share a few pics of my stud boy Toby….

Later this Spring, I hope to have Toby honeymoon with Chloe.  Chloe is shown below with her daughter Lily.

Isn't she great?!!

Look for Lily to enter our breeding program later this year.  Have a great weekend and enjoy all the snow!

Ruby X Rhett – 4 Weeks

Happy Groundhog Day!  Let’s hope Punxsutawney Phil is wrong so that I can get these little guys outside.  No more sneaking into the puppy room…one little squeak from the door and 7 little heads are all looking out of the box wanting to see what’s going on.  I’ve started giving them some puppy formula to drink, as Ruby is telling me that she is ready to be done….no more laying down in the box for her, she just stands there and makes them stretch for the milk!  In a day or two (as soon as they have mastered the art of lapping), I will start to add some solid foods to their diet.  Thanks for looking!

Ruby X Rhett – 3 Weeks

January 26, 2010 by delawarevalleylabradoodles

3 weeks today!   The rate of development is just amazing.  They can hear me walk into the puppy room now and lift their heads to see what’s going on.   The puppies are starting to spend just a little more time awake .  They’ve discovered each other and have started to dabble in the art of playing….ear nibbles, mouthing, little lunges.   It’s hysterical to hear the noises that come out of the whelping box as they begin to experiment with their voices.  Every once in a while a loud bark will come out and scare them all!  It’s exciting to watch as the little personalities develop in each of them.

Ruby X Rhett – 2 Weeks

January 19, 2010 by delawarevalleylabradoodles

Two weeks old today!  All of the puppies have their eyes open now (some a little more than others), but there is no indication that they are hearing yet.  They have started to get up and walk (as opposed to slither)….this is a fun process to watch as their little legs are splayed very wide at first giving them an alligator like appearance :).  This litter is just so fat and happy.  Purple Boy actually passed the 3lb mark this morning …holy cow!  Enjoy the pictures…

Ruby X Rhett – 1 Week

Happy 1 week birthday little puppies!  The eyes and ears are still closed, but wow do they know when their Mama steps into that whelping box!  They are all sound asleep, then in an instant it’s pandemonium…. running around and shrieking like a small flock of seagulls (honest, that’s what it sounds like :) ).   They are growing at a fantastic rate!  All are over a pound and most have already doubled their birth weight.

Ruby X Rhett – 1 day

January 7, 2010 by delawarevalleylabradoodles

I look at these little puppies and I just have to pinch myself!  Their color and coat are fabulous.  In the next few days, they will start to gain the black pigment in their noses and lose that naked mole rat look they’ve got going on right now! :)   I’d like to introduce you to:

No Collar Girl (9 oz)

Blue Girl (9.5 oz)

Ruby delivered 8 beautiful puppies this afternoon!   After a whole lot of panting and pacing last night, she delivered all of the puppies in just 2.5 hours today.  All were big and healthy in shades of dark cream through red.  I’ll post individual pictures tomorrow.  Here are a few group pictures:

Waiting for Our New Year Puppies!

December 15, 2009 by delawarevalleylabradoodles

In November Ruby honeymooned with Rhett from Eden Valley Labradoodles.  (Thank you Pam, for sharing your handsome boy with us!)  All of the puppies should mature to nice sized mediums at 18-19″ and 35lbs.  All will most likely be Apricot with a possible Cream or two.  Here is a picture of the happy couple:

At this time, the reservation list for this litter is completely filled until we know how Mother Nature will bless us.

In the Spring I will be breeding Chloe  for puppies to go home late summer or early fall.   The stud will most likely be our new boy Toby.

He is the funniest little dog, always looking for a party.  He was put on this earth to just love and be loved!  The puppies from this litter will be about 1/2 black and 1/2 brown….out of those, about 1/2 should be full parti (i.e., at least 50% white with some other color) and 1/2 will be mostly solid with some white spots (like Toby).

Thanks for looking and stay tuned for puppies right after the New Year!

Upcoming Litter

July 4, 2009 by delawarevalleylabradoodles

I am tentatively Planning on breeding Ruby in the late fall for puppies that will be ready in January or February.  I have my eye on two very handsome, fleece-coated, medium-sized, red/apricot boys.   The puppies from either stud will mature to about 18-19″ and 30-35lbs, in all shades of cream, apricot, and red.  If you would like to be added to my contact list for this litter, please email me and I will let you know when I am ready to begin accepting applications and deposits.  Thanks!
